What is Cerakote Gun Coating?

Cerakote™ is a Polymer-Ceramic Composite coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote™ ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is rigorously tested to guarantee that Cerakote™ products remain at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. Cerakote™ ceramic coatings utilize state-of-the-art technology to out-perform any competitive coating in both laboratory settings and real world applications.

Lexington Engraving uses Cerakote™ H-Series firearm coatings. This allows us to create unique, one of a kind custom finishes, and themed builds. We also use Cerakote™ C-Series for high temperature applications (i.e., suppressors).  All patterns and stencils are created in-house using heat resistant vinyl allowing for crisp, clean lines. We can create any type of custom stencil needed to produce some of the most unique finishes in the industry. How durable is Cerakote™?  We have been asked this question may times!  Cerakote™ is more durable than any other aftermarket industrial coating or finish. There are many types of finishes, sprays, chemicals, and plating (to name a few). Nickel and Hard Chrome plating are some of the most durable finishes you can use, but these have their limits in terms of color choice!  The combination of Cerakote™ H-Series and Cerakote's™ new Armor Clear™ makes our finishes even more durable than non-cleared work. As far as wear, it's natural for items to wear due to heat and friction. Cerakote™ is not an end-all, be-all solution, however it will last if it is properly taken care of. We find that the use of a silicon cloth to wipe down surfaces helps reduce friction and prolong the Cerakote™ finish. If you are not completely satisfied with your custom finish we will redo it it FREE of charge.  We guarantee you will like it!
